Texas Book Festival 2015
The Texas Book Festival is back, and we are excited to announce that fields will be tabling this year! We will be situated in Booth #315, on Colorado Street between 12th and 13th Streets. Come say hello! We'll be sharing a table with our friends at Awst Press and selling copies of issue 4.
When you're not hanging out with us, we recommend going to see Joseph Skibell and Bob Morris in a panel presented by our newly minted editor Zoë Miller, to take place from 11-11:45 on Sunday in the House Chamber. And we would be remiss not to urge you to see Margaret Atwood read in the House Chamber on Saturday at 10:00 and take part in a discussion led by hometown hero Kelly Luce. Other highlights include:
♦ Poet Mary Jo Bang and novelist Laura van den Berg discuss dystopia in the Texas Tent on Saturday at 2:00 ♦ Famed rock critic Robert Christgau presents his new memoir in Capitol Extension Room E2.010 on Saturday at 4:00 ♦ Colin Winnette and Carola Dibbell talk punk rock and acid westerns in Capitol Extension Room E1.206 on Sunday at 1:00 ♦ Also reading on Sunday at 1:00: Karolina Waclawiak and Ottessa Moshfegh, two up-and-coming authors with new novels out that we highly encourage you to read, happening in Capitol Extension Room E2.012 ♦ Kelly Link and Edward Carey talk with our friend Jill Meyers at the Texas Tent on Sunday at 2:15
You can find the full schedule here.
And with the Texas Book Festival comes the equally important and always enjoyable Texas Book Festival Lit Crawl. We are very excited to team up with Dallas's Deep Vellum Publishing to present a rousing game of Balderdash! Join us as we watch authors Mia Alvar, Andrew Ervin, Téa Obreht, Antonio Ruiz-Camacho, Dan Sheehan, and Mary Helen Specht give humorous meanings to archaic words that may or may not have dirty definitions. There will be bluffing. There will be guessing. There will be prizes and drink specials. The fun happens Saturday night, October 17, from 7:30 - 8:15 at Gemelli Gelateria. Come out and join us!
You can find more information about our Lit Crawl event on Facebook, and you can find information on the rest of the Lit Crawl at the TBF website.
