Trepidation of Youth

"No one can explain exactly what happens within us when the doors behind which our childhood terrors lurk are flung open." - W.G. Sebald

Trepidation of Youth explores the unsettling underside of childhood imagination and the dark forms that emerge in the landscape of dreams. The pieces on display explore the terrors of our youth and the limitless calamities of the future. They perplex in their sinister familiarity, dwelling in the uncanny valley of our forgotten subconscious.

The exhibit features work from Jeana Baumgardner, Nat Bradford, Manik Raj Nakra, Greg Piwonka, and Sean Ripple. It will be available for viewing one night only, May 21, from 7-11 pm at 704 E. 49th St., Unit A. This is a house gallery, so please park on the street. Beverages will be provided courtesy of Hops and Grain.
